Best-Flex HA® is our best-selling product and used by thousands of horse owners around the globe from veteran horse owners to sports horses. Of course, it is also the product we receive the most questions about regarding suitability!
Here we answer some of your questions:
Q. Does my horse require a joint supplement?
A. The #1 question we are asked as people find out that almost everyone on their yard is feeding joint supplements! As horses age, articular cartilage degrades due to injury and general 'wear and tear', reducing joint movement and compromising mobility. Best-Flex HA® provides the highest levels of Glucosamine available on the market to combat this symptom of ageing.
If your horse is in regular or hard work, the joint supporting ingredients in Best-Flex HA® support joint, ligament, tendon and cartilage formation, whatever their age.
Q. Why do I need a joint supplement with HA in it when horses produce it naturally?
A. Although horses can make Hyaluronic Acid it breaks down relatively quickly and as they age the body produces less. So when it is supplemented daily it can help support joint health and flexibility.
Q. What is the difference between Best-Flex and ExtraFlex?
A. Best-Flex HA® is our highest specification joint supplement, and therefore contains higher levels of joint supporting ingredients when compared to ExtraFlex HA®. Best-Flex HA® also contains Boswellia to provide anti-inflammatory support.
Q. Can horses and ponies with laminitis or metabolic issues have Best-Flex HA®?
A. Yes such horses and ponies can have Best-Flex HA® as there is nothing in its formulation that will cause an issue for them.
Q. Can I feed it to my young horse or is it just for older horses?
A. Best-Flex HA® is suitable for horses of all ages and will support horses that already suffer from joint issues, as well as those that don’t, as it will act as a preventative. The ingredients in Best-Flex HA® support joint, ligament, tendon and cartilage formation, which horses of all ages and workloads will benefit from.
Q. Can Best-Flex HA® be fed to horses in competition?
A. Yes, it contains nothing that is prohibited making it an excellent addition to the diet of competing horses.
Q. Does Best-Flex HA® provide any anti-inflammatory support?
A. Boswellia is included in Best-Flex HA® to provide anti-inflammatory support. Boswellia contains boswellic acids which have been shown to maintain joint comfort through the anti-inflammatory effect the boswellic acids have on the joint.
Q. What levels of joint supporting ingredients does Best-Flex HA® contain?
A. The Best-Flex HA® daily feeding rate for a 500kg horse contains: 17000mg Glucosamine, 6500mg Chondroitin, 17000mg MSM,1100mg Hyaluronic acid, 11000mg Vitamin C, 7000mg Omega-312,000mg Boswellia.
