BioPro™ combines live yeast Yea-Sacc® with the prebiotic FOS.

Horses have evolved to eat a high fibre diet, and this fibrous material is utilised by the horse following the process of fermentation to break it down. This fermentation is undertaken by a number of microorganisms which reside in the hindgut of the horse. The balance of different species is vital in order to keep the hindgut, and hence the horse, healthy, and to allow the horse to get the most from their diet. This balance is easy to upset, and changes in the diet, exercise and management of the horse can have negative impacts on this population, and allow the number of undesirable bacteria to rise. To help keep this delicate environment in peak condition, providing prebiotics (food for the good bacteria), and adding beneficial live yeast in the form of Yea-Sacc® helps to stabilise the population of microorganisms, which allows efficient digestion of fibre, reduces digestive upsets, and helps to maintain optimum digestive health for your horse.

BioPro™ should be fed daily to optimise hindgut health, to older horses, or horses that are poor doers. It can also support horses under increased stress, such as when competing, travelling, or when routine is changing.
