This is our new Horse Of The Week Hot Fuss, also known as Charlie. He is owned by Laura Oughton-Auker, who explains: “Charlie is a New Forest x Thoroughbred. He's 14.1hh and will be 29-years-old in May this year. My parents bought him for me in 2002 as a 'first pony' from a local riding school. He didn't seem to be anything special at the time just an average, quite scruffy but safe, older pony to do riding club activities with. However, over the years we realised his real forte is showing, we used to do a lot of Working Hunter and Show Hunter Pony classes until I became too old for the class. We then turned our attention to Veteran showing, in which he excelled. Charlie won a huge class at the Royal Norfolk Show, and was Reserve Champion when he was 24-years-old. He has never been over keen on travelling though, so we retired him from big shows that year. Charlie continues to hunt with the West Norfolk Foxhounds when the meets are nearby, and attends the local show which we hack to. He enjoys being schooled, and popping the occasional fence still. No one can believe the difference that Feedmark’s Boswellia has made to Charlie.” “I had heard about Boswellia being useful for old ponies and maintaining soundness. In summer 2015, Charlie suddenly seemed to start tripping when ridden, he was not laying down so much and was just generally a bit miserable. I was quite upset because despite knowing my boys age, he had always been so full of life. He's the type of pony that we would turn out with the youngsters to keep them in check!” “I resigned myself to the fact that he was ready to be retired. I bought some of Feedmark’s Boswellia at Equifest thinking it might make him a bit happier, but didn't expect anything exciting to happen as I've tried numerous joint supplements over the years without much difference or success. Well I have to say I cannot believe the results. He has two small measures of your Boswellia a day and it honestly has changed his life. I've got my boy back!” “In October I took Charlie to a local show, we hacked about a mile to the venue. He won his in-hand classes and was reserve champion, he then did the ridden classes again, being the reserve. To top it all off, Charlie and I then competed in the charity mounted games, he loved it and he won! He then trotted all the way home with his ears pricked. Some ponies half Charlie’s age can't do that! He's been out By kind permission of Emily Harris Photography.[/caption] hunting a couple of times since, is schooled and hacks out regularly. He lays down and rolls comfortably and is back to being the undisputed 'King' of the yard! I cannot thank you enough, something so simple really has made such a huge impact.” A FREE pouch of Boswellia is on its way to Charlie for being our Horse Of The Week! Each week, the Feedmark team select a horse of the week from reviews, letters and emails sent to them.
